Marketing and advertising

Purpose: Measure whether a visit that began with one of our ads resulted in a signup, so we can understand which campaigns are worth running

First-party attribution cookie

Purpose: Remember which campaign first brought you to Hatchet, so a later signup can be attributed to it
Duration: 90 days
Set when: Only when you arrive on a link carrying campaign parameters or an ad click identifier, and only once your consent allows it. An ordinary visit sets nothing, and declining deletes it.
Data collected: Campaign parameters (utm_*) and ad click identifiers from the URL you arrived on, plus the page you landed on and the site you came from
Cookie: ht_attr, set by us on .hatchet.run and never shared with a third party

Cookieless analytics

If you decline our cookie banner—or, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, have not yet responded to it—we still measure aggregate website usage (such as the number of unique visitors and page views) without storing any cookies or other data on your device. Instead, our analytics provider (PostHog Inc.) computes a privacy-preserving identifier on its servers from a hash of your IP address, browser user agent, and a random salt value that rotates daily and is then deleted. This identifier cannot be linked back to you, is not stored on your device, and cannot be used to recognize you across days.

PostHog

We use PostHog to understand how visitors use our Service. For more information, see https://posthog.com/privacy.

Google Ads

We use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether a visit that began with one of our ads resulted in a signup. We do not use Google Analytics. Advertising cookies are set only once your consent allows them. For more information, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/cookies.

We implement Google Consent Mode in its “advanced” form, and it is worth being precise about what that means. Google’s tag loads on the page even before you have accepted cookies. While your consent is denied it reads and writes no cookies, but it does send Google a cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which Google uses to estimate conversions it is not permitted to measure directly. It is not silent.

We enable Google’s ad-data redaction setting, so while advertising consent is denied those signals carry no ad click identifiers. Accepting cookies switches the tag to full measurement; declining leaves it in this redacted, cookieless state.

Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)

We use CDNs to deliver content efficiently. These services may set cookies to optimize content delivery and performance.

Customer Support Tools

We use third-party tools to provide customer support, which may set cookies to maintain support session state and preferences.

Your default depends on where you are visiting from, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page on hatchet.run. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent: the same banner reopens, shows your current setting, and takes one click to change.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Analytics and marketing cookies are off until you turn them on. Our banner asks first, and until you click “Allow cookies” we collect only aggregate, cookieless usage statistics as described in the “Cookieless analytics” section above. Clicking “Decline” keeps them off.

Everywhere else. Analytics and marketing cookies are on by default, in line with the applicable local law. Our banner tells you this and offers an “Opt out” control; clicking it disables them and leaves only the aggregate, cookieless measurement described above.

In both cases your choice is remembered in the ht_consent cookie and applies across hatchet.run, docs.hatchet.run and cloud.hatchet.run.

Do Not Track signals

Some browsers include a “Do Not Track” feature that signals your preference not to be tracked. Currently, there is no standard way for websites to respond to these signals, so we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of any material changes by:

Updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
Providing additional notice as required by applicable law
